The Almshouse Arcade has been owned by the Barnett family since The 1980's and Almshouse Vintage was established in January 2020 by Sarah Barnett. R.K & V Barnett have been lifelong collectors and dealers of antique furniture, toys, vintage cars & cycles and the last 15 years Ladies and Gentleman's vintage clothing especially for the Goodwood Revival.

I trained as a beauty therapist in 2000 and ran my own beauty salon for 15 years in the Almshouse Arcade untilI had my daughter Millie in 2013 and wanted to move onto something different to fit around family life. I have always enjoyed being my own boss.

I discovered my first retro dress by Vivien of Holloway when going to my first Goodwood Revival back in 2008. I felt amazing wearing it and seeing all the other ladies wearing VOH Dresses and dressed in the vintage eras.

As my mum was already selling vintage clothing this seemed the ideal thing to get involved in. I immediately began researching vintage & retro clothing. 

My mum always been in to Art Deco furniture and collectables so the 1920’s era was something l also admired the clothing.
